More than 400 volunteers gathered on the sandy shoreline of Idotun Community in Ibeju‑Lekki — united by one mission: protecting our environment. What unfolded was more than a cleanup. It was a movement.

A Day of Purpose, Action, and Community
To commemorate World Environment Day 2026, Lekki Port mobilized an impressive coalition of community members, environmental groups, and institutional partners for a large‑scale beach cleanup at the Idotun shoreline.
The energy was unmistakable — children, elders, youth groups, environmental advocates, and professionals all working side by side. Everyone came with one intention: to make the coastline cleaner, healthier, and more resilient.

Cleaning the Coastline, Inspiring Change
The cleanup wasn’t just about removing waste — though significant amounts of plastic and debris were collected. It was about:
- Raising awareness on responsible waste disposal
- Encouraging climate‑positive behavior
- Strengthening community ownership of the coastline
- Demonstrating the power of collective action
Every volunteer who picked up a bottle, a wrapper, or a discarded fishing net contributed to a cleaner ocean and a healthier community.
