We are proud to announce that Dr. Mrs. Felicia Chinwe Mogo, Founder and President of the African Marine Environment Sustainability Initiative (AFMESI), has been invited as a key speaker at the GloLitter Partnerships Project Second Africa Regional Task Force Meeting, taking place from 30 June – 4 July 2025 in Antananarivo, Madagascar. Dr. Mogo will deliver a presentation on Day 4 (3 July) during the session on “Regional Cooperation, with a focus on linking country participants to other non-GloLitter project sea-based marine plastic litter (SBMPL) initiatives in Africa.”
We are thrilled to announce that the AFMESI Coastal Women Dance Troupe, “Comot Wahala”, will be performing at the 30th Anniversary Celebration of WISTA Nigeria on March 25, 2025! This vibrant troupe, composed of talented coastal women, was established by AFMESI to showcase African cultural heritage through dance and storytelling while advocating for marine sustainability, women’s empowerment, and social inclusion in the Blue Economy.
The African Marine Environment Sustainability Initiative (AFMESI) is pleased to announce its upcoming symposium and workshop on Sustainable Ocean Action in Africa, under the overarching theme: ACHIEVING BLUE GROWTH IN A CHANGING CLIMATE (INTEGRATING THE COASTAL COMMUNITIES) to be accompanied by a workshop.The event is scheduled to take place at the Best Western Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, from the 24th to 25th of September, 2024.
