Dr. Mohammed Hamadina has three decades of research/consulting experience, mostly as Environment Safeguard Expert/Development Consultant and worked across all the ecosystems of Nigeria, including the ultra deep offshore. Participated in the execution of >80 missions across sectors such as infrastructure, energy, agriculture, manufacturing and mining. ‘Lenders Coordinator’ (for Social and Environmental issues) to International Finance Corporation (IFC) & Dutch Development Bank (FMO) towards lending to the largest cement plant in Sub-Saharan Africa. Served as Environment and Energy Specialist to the EC Delegation to Nigeria and was a co-author of the EC’s Nigeria Environmental Profile (2008). In May/June 2012, was recruited as Environment & Energy Specialist to update (along with two other consultants) the Country Environmental Profile of Nigeria for input into the 11th EDF, and carried out ex-post assessment of past EU interventions in Northern Nigeria. Prior to being a Consultant, was a Research Assistant at IITA and later became one of 2 Africans awarded Research Fellowship in a ‘Special Project’ jointly executed by IITA/Institute of Agrobiology and Soil Fertility (AB-DLO), The Netherlands.
