Dr. Mogo, Felicia Chinwe (PhD) is the Founder/President of AFMESI. She is an Environmental scientist/manager of international repute.
over 27 years experience in working with the Federal Government of Nigeria in the Environmental regulatory arm. She has practical skills in policy and regulation formulation, including but not limited to formulation of standards and guidelines for environmental sustainable environmental management. Dr. Mogo has immense where-with-all on international negotiation, strategic guidelines on implementation, compliance, monitoring and enforcement; planning ,organization, setting-up of national environmental regulatory,leading marine environmental investigation and researching for decision making, Given her proven track record on a broad range of environmental management issues and her burden to contribute in closing the obvious knowledge gap in marine environment management (with particular concern on African region), She has decided to channel her experiences to ensuring that the marine resources in this region is being explored in a sustainable manner hence the birth of AFMESI .

Ms. Dorothy Bassey started her career in the Oil and Gas Sector over 16 years ago as an environmental Officer in charge of toxicity testing of drilling fluids for use in the Industry, in the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR).She grew rapidly in the Department and in the Industry to become the officer-in-charge of Environmental Assessment and Waste Management from 2003- 2007. She headed the Licenses and Permits Unit from April 2007 to March 2009. This task saw more entrants into the Industry, as service contractors were systematically screened and assessed before a ‘permit to operate’ in the Industry was issued. Her stint on the schedule revolutionalized the licensing and permitting processes/requirements for the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry service providers.Today, she heads the Safety and Environment Division of the DPR, and is the first woman to do so in the history of the Department.She holds a Master of Science degree in Analytical Chemistry with a diploma in waste management from Galilee College, Israel and has attended several seminars, workshops and conferences within and outside Nigeria. She has also presented papers at conferences and HSE fora.Ms. Dorothy Bassey is one of those that pioneered the activities of the Nigerian Environmental Society (NES). She was formerly admitted into the Society in 1994 and therefore has attained a membership status of over 15 years. As a member of the Society, she held the position of the Publicity Secretary for two consecutive tenures of two years each with emphasis on youth empowerment. As she put it then, “when environmental awareness grow with the people, the environment is appreciated and preserved”.Dorothy Bassey disposes her responsibilities with passion and commitment. She believes in conscientious dialogue and learning, ever ready to listen and work with others. She is an avid reader, traveler and advocate for sustainable development.Her immense contributions to sound safety and environmental practice have remained remarkable. She has served as the Secretary and Vice Chairperson of the Conference Planning and Management Committee of the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Biennial International Conference. This conference is facilitated by the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry and draws leaders in the sector, nationally and internationally.

Dr Aboje is highly skilled and motivated Environmental Scientist with over 18 years hands on experience in rendering environmental services to government agencies, the upstream and downstream oil and gas industry, non governmental organizations, academic institutions, and corporate establishments. These environmental services include studies; (Environmental Impacts Assessment, Baseline Ecological Data Acquisition, Environmental Management Plan etc.), Environmental Audit and Evaluation, facilitating Health Safety and Environment Management Systems Courses), remediation of soil and groundwater, natural resources management (water, forest and soil conservation), capacity building and awareness campaign in project communities on water usage, sanitation and hygiene. He has vast experience in project management related to site assessment, characterization and remediation, policy issues and technical report writing
